Carine Barinia
Programme Producer

Carine is Project X’s Programme Producer.  She oversees the Artist Voice residencies and Choreographic platform and provides support across all projects. 

Alongside Project X, she works as an independent producer, she most recently worked at assistant producer at BUZZCUT Festival 2026. Over the years she has supported and worked with various artists on films, performances and live events.


Outside of her work as a producer, Carine studies Tarot and Astrology and is building her personal reading practice.

Emmanuella Damptey
Social Media Manager

Emmanuella is a social media manager, content creator, and producer with a background in performing. She specializes in crafting engaging digital content for arts and theater projects, capturing behind-the-scenes moments, producing promotional videos, and documenting events with a quick turnaround for social media. Passionate about storytelling, she highlights the creative process and connects with audiences in an authentic and dynamic way.

Marios Ento-Engkolo
Community Engagement Liaison

Marios Ento-Engkolo is an Afro-Mediterranean, queer, Glasgow-based dance artist passionate about storytelling and emotional expression through movement. His journey began in 2017, and dance has since become his primary medium for connection and self-expression.

Marios has a diverse range of experience, working with artists across various styles, from street dance genres like hip-hop and afrobeats to contemporary and experimental dance. His particular focus on experimental dance and contemporary performance reflects his love of movement and ritualistic practices, influenced by the mentorship of Divine Tasinda.

He received the Dancers Emerging Bursary Scheme 2022 at Dance Base, mentored by Mele Broomes. Additionally, he was awarded The Artist's Voice Residency with Project X 2023-2024, enabling him to bring his autobiographical work "Dualism" to life.

 
 

Rhea Lewis
Founder & Co-Director

Rhea Lewis is a creative producer working interdisciplinary across dance, theatre & performance, collaborating with artists & communities to create ambitious productions, & space(s) for their voices to be amplified on their own terms. Working in consultation & advocacy, Rhea contributes to decolonial & intersectional feminist change in the arts.

Previously, She has worked for a range of performance companies, venues and festivals including arts programmes at international championships in Glasgow.

Alongside Project X, Rhea is Artist Development Producer at National Theatre of Scotland and an independent producer.

Emanuel Carlos
Co-Director

Emanuel Carlos is Project X ‘s new co-director. He is a multidisciplinary creative and community leader dedicated to driving social impact through culture, mentorship, and innovation. 

Originally from Angola, he co-founded Associação Pangue D’Ami (Jipangue) in Lisbon, a non-profit organisation that empowers youth and migrant communities through arts, education, and inclusion initiatives.

Alongside his community work, Emanuel is a dancer, choreographer, and coach, collaborating with schools, festivals, and cultural organisations across Portugal and the UK. His mission is to inspire personal growth, create meaningful opportunities, and build bridges between diverse communities across borders.

Mele Broomes
Founder

Mele Broomes is an award-winning  multidisciplinary artist, renowned for her performances that blend dance, sound, and striking poetics.

Mele’s works have been showcased at venues and festivals, including Actoral Festival (Marseille), Edinburgh Art Festival UK’s largest Visual Art Festival, Battersea Arts Centre (London), The Place (London), Theatre Centre (Canada), Cultura Inglesa Festival (Brazil), Edinburgh Art Festival, Dance International Glasgow, Whitechapel Gallery, and more.

She has appeared in touring films, including RESET by Alberta Whittle and Svikiro by Sekai Machache, and has worked as a movement director for both visual art projects and theatre productions.

As the founder of Body Remedy and co-founder of Project X Dance. Mele has spent 10 years developing Black and POC artists development initiatives in Scotland.

Ashanti Harris

Ashanti Harris is a multi-disciplinary artist and researcher working with dance, performance, film, facilitation and installation. With a focus on recontextualusing historical narratives, Ashanti’s work explores themes of mobilities - the movement of people, ideas and things and the wider social implications of these movements, specifically in relation to the Caribbean diaspora. Her recent research projects have included The Dances of the African and Caribbean Diaspora in Scotland; and The Presence and Legacies of Guyanese Women in Scotland in the 18th and 19th Centuries.

Alongside Project X, Ashanti is also a co-founder of Glasgow Open Dance School (G.O.D.S) - facilitating experimental movement workshops, research groups and collaborative performances.
