About the programme:
This programme is about supporting artists to come together to meet, share experiences, insights which can feed into Project X activities.
This is the 2nd year of this programme (the first cohort took place January - July 2025, and you can see more on our website).
Throughout a 6-month period, the Artist Group will come together to:
Group trips to watch shows together
Plan the Artist Led Project and deliver this by end of June 2026
Contribute to Project X in different ways such as feeding in artistic ideas and ways of working.
During the programme, the participants will be supported by our Community Engagement Liaison, who will also facilitate the meetings. The meetings will take place in Glasgow at the Project X office, and we have a budget for travel and accommodation if needed.

FAQs
Who can apply?
This is an opportunity for Black artists with African / Caribbean heritage.
Is this an opportunity for emerging artists?
This is an opportunity for artists with some experience in their field of interest and experience in being of focus groups/boards, and/or instigating and organising in their communities. However, early-career artists are welcome to apply.
Can people from the previous Artist Group apply?
Yes, they can apply and they will be considered. However, we will prioratise new applicants for fairness.
Are the artists expected to do something together and individually as their Artists Led Project?
Yes.
The artists will have a Seed Funding pot of £2000 to use collaboratively and each artist will have a Seed Funding pot of £300 that can be used individually.
What is possible and the scope of the Artists Led Project?
The scope is very open and can be determined by the artists and their needs, for example, a sharing of their work, workshop, attending events or festivals. That applied for both the individual and collaborative Artists Led Project.
Is this opportunity only for dancers?
Project X mainly platforms dancers and movers, however, this opportunity is also open to other artists, as long as they work with dancers or within dance.
For example, a music producer could apply only if they work with dancers, making scores for them, or contributes any other capacity using music.
What is the commitment needed from me? I have existing commitments/ responsibilities on those days - can I still apply?
The programme requires 6 days of your time. The meetings themselves will be half days or sometimes shorter and the rest of the time will be counted as preparation or travel.
At this stage, we are asking all those who are applying to be available for the full days on January 19, 23 February, 23 March which will likely be 10am -2pm. Depending on existing commitments such as caring responsibilities or access requirements, we may start later or earlier.
