Project X Summer School
In July, we are ran a free summer school for 8-13 years at The African Arts Centre from Monday 17th -Friday 21st.
The five day programme included; learning traditional African Dances, as well as contemporary styles with in the African Diaspora. There was storytelling sessions, costume making and movies celebrating dances our African Diaspora!
Supported by BEMIS and Visit Scotland's Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology we held the Let's Dance Carnival on Friday 21st July. This celebration event showcased what the young people created, as well as performances from Divine Tasinda, and storytelling Gift Amu Logoste to celebrate our heritage.
To finish off the summer school, on Saturday 22nd July we performed as part of Glasgow’s Merchant City Festival.
